Hello gang,

Like most of you, I adore Citizen Radio. It's part of my morning commute across the Bay Bridge just about every day. Thankfully Jamie and Allison are loud enough to be heard over my motorcycle and the wind.

I live in SF and work as a copywriter (specializing in food). For some extra dollars I bartend on the weekends at a hip hop club.

Interests: food politics, MMA, comedy, yoga, weightlifting, writing, motorcycles, farm culture, nutrition, philosophy, and the Oxford comma.

See you all around here.

Welcome to the board chadfredlott and Robbrownaswood. We are thinking about talking through plans to coordinate making a future effort to repopulate the board with maniacs ... so please dive right in.

(And Rob, lots of people here with similar issues and experiences. If we can get some of the maniacs back here then there will be hugs and punches aplenty.)

Thank ye. Been a while since using forums so I'll Pooh think on it, but like Youtube and Twitter et al. the lack of structure and civil discourse ruins any back and forth and scares the bunnies. In real life referencing the other's point works to ease them but who knows. Not sure if there is any place to discuss users' takes on other podcasts or topics within those. May have a wider cross section of podders or easy pickup topics...

You mean we should steal Sam Seder's listeners? Damn good idea!

I hope you all don't mind if I deviate from the normal idea of the posts in this thread to re-introduce myself to the group. Since it's been months since I logged on to the forum, let alone participated, I doubt many of you remember much of anything about me.

I'm a 24-year-old guy who has lived in Texas for the better part of the past decade. I've struggled with figuring out who I am and who I want to be for the past decade or so. I was raised in a conservative, Catholic household and until I was about 15ish, I was a mindless drone who believed what I was taught and never questioned anything. I'm not sure what exactly initiated the change, but I began the slow process of reconsidering just about every one of my beliefs. This has caused a lot of friction between my family and myself and has led me to make some poor choices and some decisions that have perhaps set me back from where I'd like to be in certain areas of my life. However, since I found CR about a year ago, I've been honing my beliefs even more and am thrilled that there are like-minded people out there. I hope this forum picks back up. I look forward to getting to know everyone again and being an active member of our community.

Welcome back. Start a thread or two and lets see if we can liven this place up a bit. It would be really great if you could pretend to be a right-winger who doesn't understand altruism and then you could start a 10 page essay writing contest with Matt and The Doctor. Or maybe not.

Maybe we should have a re-introduction thread. It would be good to get some people back here to get everyone fired up for another year of political badassery. 2012 could be a year to remember in our Northern plutocracies.

Done.

And yeah, I think having a debate is always going to involve more posts, but we don't just need to debate with right-wingers. Feel free to have left-wing debates, so long as you're not being assholes about it. (which I doubt will happen)

Well, howdy there Citizen Radio Forum and all of the Godless Maniacs that manage to fill it!

Let's see, I'm terrible at these but I figure I might as well attempt to introduce myself :
My name is Norbs, but [Norby] [Norb] [Norbit] and [Norbtastic] are all acceptable as well. I'm pretty easy going, sarcastic, and occasionally a little strange as I've been told. In any case I enjoy meeting new people and learning new things so feel free to contact me whenever and however. I donated to CR for the first time today [first time I've been able to financially] and couldn't be happier.

Basics
- 20 years of age
- Military Police
- Lesbian
- Hobby artist
- Atheist

Enjoys
- Alternative music
- Street art
- Electronics
- Activism
